A politician when it serves him; a lord of darkness when you cross him, Eisuke Ichimoniya is quite literally the king of his own castle. He makes the rules and he’s not afraid to break them if it means getting what he wants. He may be young, handsome and a millionaire, but he hasn’t been spared sadness and heartbreak. Eisuke has trust issues that have been sowed since a young age, stripping him of innocence and gentleness. He thinks all those who approach him have a hidden agenda which usually revolved around bringing him down. The worst thing is, his paranoia is well founded.
Having been separated from his sister after his parents’ untimely death, he was raised in a rich household which earned him the jealousy of many a powerful peer. Eisuke has the ability to attract enemies as easily as he does the ladies. Life has turned him into a master manipulator, able to turn on the charm even as he’s plotting the downfall of people left and right.
To say the first impression the MC gets from him is a bad one would be an understatement. Eisuke acts entitled and it’s a quirk so ingrained in his character, that it’s impossible to shake it off. This causes people to misunderstand him; assuming his an evil and heartless jerk that cannot evolved into something better. It is no secret that his character is controversial, especially in his treatment towards the MC at the beginning of his route.
But… if you give him a chance, you’ll see that beyond that arrogant mask and bratty attitude, lies a heart that wants to open up and embrace love. And, eventually, he does. Eisuke’s character changes very subtly as his route progresses, but change it does! One thing is clear as day, though. He treasures the MC sincerely and wholeheartedly. He would burn the world down before seeing her hurt.
Unlike other characters, Eisuke is selfish when it comes to the MC. This is probably because he needs her more than she needs him. So much so that he can’t control his possessiveness which sometimes causes him to speak without careful thought, hurting her. It’s abundantly clear that he’s afraid to lose her and find himself alone surrounded by enemies. But at least, he knows when he’s crossed the lines and is quick to rectify his harshness towards the MC –showing he values her more than he cares to admit.
Granted, Eisuke might never fit the role of a storybook prince. But given a chance, you’ll realize that in his own especial way, he views and treat the MC like a queen. Belaying his sometimes callously spoken words, his actions demonstrate that he’s capable of heart-wrenching tenderness and passionate love. Do beware if you give him a try… for he might end up storming his way right into your heart and taking you prisoner.
